Trust fund baby Blake Brooks is many things to many people--doting father to his precious Bitsy, discreetly gay husband to lesbian Daisy, tolerant son to his godawful father--but most important to him is his role as best friend to sexy attorney, Tyrone, with whom he's been in love since boarding school.
When Daisy falls for Bitsy's nanny and throws Blake out of their mansion, he looks to Tyrone for a place to crash while he picks up the pieces...and finds so much more. Not only is he welcome at Tyrone's, there are rooms for Blake and Bitsy plus a closet full of designer clothes. And Tyrone, who's never had a real relationship with anyone, shows him such affection that Blake wonders if his best friend’s stoicism hides more than just his softer side.
Is Blake succumbing to wishful thinking, or has the mysterious, emotionally unavailable Tyrone been waiting for Blake all this time?

I read The Wasps in one five hour sitting. That's unusual for me, yes I read fast but I don't normally devour books in one go. I stayed up until 4am to finish it.Probably what drew me the most was how anguished Blake was. Sure he was an entitled trust fund baby with a mouth on him, but he was so well written that I couldn't help but ache for him while he pined after his childhood friend. The book is from Blake's perspective and at times he was so infuriatingly blind to clues -I- could tell Tyrone was giving out, but I have to admit I've been there and done that.
Would you think less of me if I told you that at one point, just over half way through the book, I was nearly in tears for Blake?
Tyrone is a bit of a mystery, but on the surface he's a stand-up guy who idolizes his father and throws himself into the family business. When everything works out in the end (no spoilers there, it's a romance novel) we learned a little more about Tyrone that just makes him that much more likeable.
I will read this one again, a little slower this time, and I'll definitely recommend it to friends.

The WASPs edition by Clancy Nacht Thursday Euclid Romance eBooks Reviews
Weirdly heteronormative, the title is very accurate it's about a rich white guy who is thrown out of his mansion by his lesbian wife . He then goes to live with his wealthy straight bff in his high end condo. Meh completely unrelatable to most queer folks. Also stop talking about smacking people in the face with your dick already, disgusting.
So much goes on in this book it is hard to believe it is only 160 pages. And most of what happens is emotional engagement, emotional growth, and emotional angst.
I enjoy straight to gay romance, but this one was A-typical. Rather than questioning his sexuality or emotional attachment to Blake, Tyrone is relatively even keel about it all. Relatively, but more than most Gay for you books I have read.
Editing
I did not notice any typos. I enjoyed the Authors’ voice for the lead protagonist Blake. He was lighthearted and set a whimsical tone to a story that could have been very dark and brooding.
Character Growth (Spoilers)
Blake is a directionless flibbertigibbet bit of fluff. He is also aware of it, and has some serious self-doubt about his worthiness to be loved and kept. He has a family but seems to be playing house while devoted to his daughter and wife. Tyrone is an intense International lawyer who is married to his work.
As the book progresses we learn more of Blake and Tyrone’s past, and how their shared past and past relationship formed them into the unhappy unfulfilled people they currently are.
Both characters grow predictably, but also surprisingly. Blake and Tyrone transform from one-night-stands to devoted Monogamy after they begin to have sex. Tyrone is also “Straight to Gay” for Blake, and begins his first relationship with a man.
Tyrone lightens up and values love more than work. Blake gets more serious and finds a cause to care about and devote his time to.
Sex
This is perhaps the first book I have read in which the emotional connection I want my characters to have is there from literally the first page. Blake and Tyrone are in love and we can tell the instant Blake knocks on Tyrone’s door and gets cuddled.
Blake and Tyrone constantly ratchet up the emotional and physical tension until it explodes into sexual and emotional climax. The sexual and emotional climaxes do not solve everything, and there is more changing and growing to be had before the protagonists can have their happily ever after. The sex and emotional climax are what precipitates the characters’ final transformation.
Closing Thoughts
This book surprised me in its depth and in its strong emotional connection. I was deeply invested in Blake and Tyrone, and was giddy that I could travel with them after their sexual unity through the emotional turmoil until their HEA. It was very satisfying to watch them fall into love and into being together practically.
If I was in the mood for an emotionally engaging tale through a lens of self-doubt and sass I would most definitely read this book again.

The WASPs sounded like a good read from the blurb. I adore kid!fic and Gay For You stories, so this novel seemed right up my alley. Unfortunately an interesting concept that is not pulled off in its final execution, and the book failed on all levels for me except for the hot sex scenes.
First, the characterizations were all over the place. Then, add in truly unlikable secondary characters, a silly plot and sexist dialogue, and you get a disorganized book. I am going to start with the characters, which on the surface could have been awesome, but failed to deliver beyond the superficial.
Blake Brooks - main protagonist, love interest for Tyrone Edwards. He's a male version of Paris Hilton. Self-absorbed and vain, he married a woman (who happens to be a lesbian) to please his family, even though he knew he was gay. He clings to Tyrone like a spider monkey and relies on other people - his father and Tyrone - to pay his bills even though he went to law school. He frequently refers to women as "skanks, ho's, etc.," and has no redeeming qualities I can see except his love for Tyrone and his child, Bitsy.
Tyrone Edwards - second protagonist, love interest for Blake. Friends with Blake since boarding school, the man is a womanizer. The opening scene in which Blake shows up on Tyrone's doorstep after being disowned by his father and kicked out by his wife has Ty in bed with a woman he picked up at the perfume counter, who he treats like a piece of meat after he's done with her. Supposedly straight, he baby-talks with Blake and acts more gay than Liberace in every scene he's in. I wasn't sure why he treated Blake like a delicate flower he need to protect and care for since they both were grown men, but I went with it.
Blake's dad - An old pervert, who when Blake and Tyrone have breakfast with him and he discovers their new relationship as lovers, tries to invite himself into a threesome with them. Yeah, he wants to have sex with his son and the son's boyfriend. He made Lionel Luthor from Smallville look practically heroic. Later, a secret is revealed and he might actually not be such a bad guy, but most of the scenes he was in, he creeped me out.
Daisy Brooks - Blake's soon-to-be ex-wife. A plastic, narcissistic airhead who leaves her husband for the nanny. She knew she married a gay man, yet complains about their lack of a sex life, which she uses as a reason to toss Blake out. She expects everyone to support her and her child. A real nightmare who did not come across as maternal nor sympathetic.
Bitsy Brooks - Daisy and Blake's daughter. Adorable. Best character in the book and she's a kid!
I wish the characters in this book had been more realistically drawn, but in actuality they seemed cartoonish. Now I love a whimsical farce as much as the next person, but The WASPs did not have the feel of a socialite screw-ball comedy since Blake was just plain flakey, not funny. I was hoping for Katherine Hepburn in Bringing Up Baby or Mischa in Lee Brazil's Keeping House, but instead got Jim Carrey from Dumb and Dumber.
However, the one good thing I can say for The WASPs is the sex scenes were hot. Once Tyrone (finally) came out of the closet, Blake and he set the sheets ablaze. So if you like hot GFY sex and a cute kid, this is the novel for you. Otherwise, not recommended. 2.5 stars.

Fun read. I love clancy nacht's books.
Great writing. Yes, the characters in the book are entitled and wealthy, but the author pokes fun at them while still acknowledging that they're real people with feelings. The story flowed well. I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed this short novel. I'm looking forward to the author's next book.
